The material development process aimed to reach a composite material containing different types of textile fibers. It could be later used for solutions requiring a more substantial structure, both on a product and furniture scale. The mechanically shredded textile fibers have been mixed with a binder, after which the carded material is developed into a composite with different properties of thickness and strength by using the pressing method.
We aim to highlight its sensory tactile properties, transparency in the material used, and the fact that the novel material is recyclable.
